Biographical notes:

Founded in 1914, the Home Economics Club at Utah Agricultural College endeavored to foster cooperation among teachers and workers in the the field, as well as promote interest in the profession. Club members also sought to build library collections at the institution and to be a source of information about their choosen profession. The Club petitioned for membership in the national honor society and in 1923 Phi Upsilon Omicron officially recognized the Kappa Chapter on the UAC campus. Collection includes material for both the Home Economics Club and its successor, the Kappa Chapter of Phi Upsilon Omicron, a national honor society for home economics students founded at Utah Agricultural College (now Utah State University) in 1924.
