Biographical notes:

Founded in 1892 by Francis Atherton Bean, Sr. at New Prague, Minn. Construction on a Buffalo mill, the company's largest, began in 1926. Conpleted in 1927, it had the capacity to produce 20,000 cwt. of flour per day. The Buffalo mill also produced formula feeds for livestock and poultry. The company name was changed in the early 1970's to International Multifoods Corp., and in 1988 International Multifoods was sold to ConAgra, Inc.
