Biographical notes:

Dothan Landmarks Foundation, Inc., was founded in 1976. One of its missions was to act as an historical society for the Dothan, Ala., area. To that end, board members, the Executive Director, and interns conducted taped interviews with local citizens living in area nursing homes. Occasionally, staff would record structured conversations between long-time local residents and attendees at summer day camps held at Landmark Park, Dothan.

Dothan Landmarks Foundation, Inc. (DLF) was chartered as a non-profit organization in 1976. Its mission is to preserve the cultural and natural history of Dothan, Ala., and the surrounding region. DLF's primary operation is Landmark Park, a 100-acre natural history and 1890s farmstead museum. DLF is governed by an 18-member board of directors and administered by an executive director and staff. In addition to its administrative infrastructure and Landmark Park, DLF has long operated as a historical repository for the area.
