Biographical notes:
Until 1983 the Collection Development Dept. of the Library was known as the Bibliographic Services Dept. It evolved as staff were needed to assist the Chief Bibliographer in the selection of materials and management of book funds. The position of Chief Bibliographer was established in 1957.
