Biographical notes:

The New Jersey State China Famine Relief Fund was a short-lived charitable organization based at Princeton University and staffed by administrators and students. Its mission was to raise money to provide relief to the population of northern China, which suffered the effects of a crippling famine for most of the first two decades of the 20th century. The group adopted its structure and its methods from the model of the larger national China Famine Relief Fund, concentrating its fundraising efforts on Princeton alumni and other campus groups. The New Jersey State China Famine Relief Fund ceased its efforts in 1921, as most of the effects of the famine had dissipated by that time.
