Biographical notes:
Trade-union organized in 1937 to represent employees of East Ohio Gas Company and led initially by Francis O'Rourke, and later, by John Nagle and William J. McCarthy. It became affiliated with the Building Service Employees' International Union in 1962, now known as the Service Employees International Union. In 1990 the local had a membership of 1,850.
