Spotswood Hunnicutt Jones (B.A. and M.A. from the College of William and Mary), Francis Butler Simkins, Professor of History at Longwood College and Sidman P. Poole of the University of Virginia co-authored a textbook which was adopted for the use of Virginia seventh grade students. The textbook was Virginia: History, Government, Geography.
