John Wyndham (John Wyndham Parkes Lucas) ( July 10 1903 – March 10, 1969 ) was a well-known and highly regarded British writer of science fiction. He has the distinction of being widely read and reviewed in both the genre and in general. His book Day of the Triffids was the source of the popular motion picture of the same title. Wyndham’s writing career started in 1931 with his first sale, Worlds to Barter, and continued until his death. Some of his fiction continues to remain in print today.
