Biographical notes:
Fairall was a lawyer from Iowa City (Johnson County, Iowa). He served 2 terms as a judge of the 8th judicial district, 2 terms in the Iowa House of Representatives, and 2 terms in the Iowa State Senate. He also served numerous times as a delegate to Democratic Party conventions.
