Biographical notes:

Undenominational Protestant church in West Concord, Mass., incorporated in 1891 as the West Concord Union Religious Society. The founding of the church had been preceeded by the formation in West Concord of the Third Congregational Church and of the Westvale Chapel Society, both of which were essentially absorbed by the West Concord Union Church. Many early members of the West Concord Union Church were staff members at the Massachusetts Reformatory in Concord. The church's first building was dedicated on Feb. 6, 1894, the second on Mar. 22, 1910. The church buildings were later enlarged.

(Cont.) with a dedication on Oct. 29, 1961. In the early years of the church's history, the Ladies' Union worked to raise money, the Concord Junction Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor to "promote an earnest Christian life," serving social purposes as well.
