Biographical notes:
Raised in Northern New York, attorney John Charles Harris graduated from Mount Union College, Alliance, Ohio. As co-founder of the Houston and Galveston-based law firm Harris & Harris with Edward Harris, he litigated for Southwestern Telephone and Telegraph Company. Often engaged as a public speaker, Harris’s 1907 address to the Texas Bar Association on legal ethics was published as a monograph.
