Biographical notes:
A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Ind., Bennett was an entrepreneur, bank director, businessman, clubman, and mystery writer. He inherited the Indianapolis Stove Company and started a solenoid valve company. Bennett was elected to membership in the Indianapolis Literary Club in 1927 and read 11 papers at meetings; many were murder mysteries. A collection of his mysteries was published in 1995 and entitled MURDER MOST FOUL AND OTHER GRISLY TALES.
