Biographical notes:

Duncan MacDougald (1913-1969), free-lance writer on a variety of subjects, was born in Atlanta, Georgia. MacDougald graduated from Princeton University (1936), traveled and studied in Europe (1936-1939), joined the staff of Broadcast Music, Inc. (1940-1942), worked in the Office of War Information and the War and State Departments (1942-1944), published THE LANGUAGES AND PRESS OF AFRICA (1944), and worked as a free-lance script writer and editorial consultant in New York until 1951, when he again went to Europe.
