Biographical notes:

From 1954 to 1970, Robert E. Waldron served in the Michigan House representing the 1st District. He served as majority floor leader (1963-64), minority leader (1965-66, 1969-70) and as Speaker of the House (1967-68). From 1964 until 1966, he worked as Wayne County Republican Party Chairman. Born in Brookline, Mass. on Jan. 25, 1920, he graduated from Dartmouth with a A.B. in 1946 and a LLB. in 1949 from the University of Michigan. He married Helen Miller in 1951 and they have three children. The family lives in Grosse Point, Mich. where he is an attorney. He served 4 years in the Air Force in W.W. II and, in 1946, was discharged with a captain's rank. He is active in the American Legion and is a member of the Episcopalian Church. In Jan. 1971, he became Executive Secretary of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association in Lansing.
