Biographical notes:

Perry Bruce Griffith (b. 1911, Wichita, Kan.-d. Jan. 10, 1985), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from West Point in 1934 and later earned his pilot's wings and transferred to the Air Corps. In 1942 he became commander of the VI Support Command which was engaged in anti-submarine warfare in the Caribbean and Pacific Ocean areas and prepared for combat in Europe and the Pacific theaters of operations in World War II. After graduating from the Air War College, he assumed command of the 4901st Support Wing (Atomic), involved in the first stateside atomic tests in Nevada. General Griffith was deputy assistant for atomic energy at Air Force Headquarters, and later, chief of staff, Joint Task Force Seven, involved in overseas atomic tests. He retired in January 1965.
