Newton Tuttle (1825-1905) was born in North Haven, Connecticut. He later moved to Utah, where he married Emily Amelia Stone (1839-1927). They were married in 1855 and had eleven children.

Lived in Salt Lake City and Bountiful. Participated in the Territorial militia and Utah War.
