M. Kenton King (b. 1924) received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1951. He served his internship at Barnes Hospital. He joined the faculty and administration of Washington University School of Medicine in 1957, serving as: instructor in medicine and preventive medicine(1957-1958), assistant professor (1958-1965), associate professor (1965-1967), professor of preventive medicine and public health (1967-1989), assistant, associate, and acting dean (1961-64), and dean (1964-1989). Dr. King's research interest was in the mechanisms of the pathogenesis of fever.
