Missionary, doctor; born in Kajiji, Belgian Congo to American missionary parents, 1938; graduated from Wheaton College with a B.S., 1959; graduated from Baylor University with his MD, 1963; went to Lubondaie and Bibanga in Zaire as a medical missionary with Presbyterian US Board of World Missions, 1964; married Elisabeth Johanna Scheidegger, 1966, and had four children; during a furlough Shannon received an MA from the Missions/Intercultural program at Wheaton College, 1990.
