Biographical notes:
Born at Jamestown, N.D., daughter of Louis Charles and Emily (Dearborn) LaMoore, graduate of Jamestown College, did some graduate work at University of North Dakota. Sister of author, Louis L'Amour. Taught in various N.D. schools, employed as librarian at Jamestown Public Library, Jamestown College Library, and Bismarck Public Library, journalist, and author. Wed Frank Harwood Waldo in 1920.

Edna LaMoore was born in 1893 in North Dakota, the daughter of a Jamestown veterinarian. She graduated from Jamestown College in 1914 and later married F.H. Waldo. In addition to raising a family, she wrote or edited seven books on North Dakota history and wrote for a newspaper in Bismarck in the 1930's. She also wrote a weekly column for the Milwaukee Journal. From 1935 to 1937, she hosted a radio talk show at KFYR in Bismarck. She and her husband moved to California in 1948 and in 1949 started to work at the Stanford Research Institute in Palo Alto, where she stayed until her retirement. She is currently 101 years old.
