Biographical notes:
Sonoma County's Council for Civic Unity (CCU), a civil rights organization formed in March 1950 to better relations between people of all races and faiths, sought to end discrimination against African Americans, Spanish speaking peoples, Jews and any minority groups. The Council was affiliated with the California Federation for Civic Unity.
