Biographical notes:
Writer and genealogist Katharine Bagg (Mrs. John Russel) Hastings was born in California on October 30, 1877 to Mrs. and Mrs. Stanley Chipman Bagg.
Living in Tombstone, Arizona in 1891, she began a (short-lived) nature publication for children titled Bug-Hunter. She married newspaperman John Russel Hastings in 1904 at Christ Church, Catskill-on-Hudson, New York. Hastings' publications include "William James of Albany, N. Y. (1771-1832) and His Descendants" [1924] and at least one article on the Barber family for "The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record", probably published in 1931. She died in Santa Barbara, California on June 2, 1955.
