Capt. Samuel Swain (1799-1842) was born in Nantucket and later became a whaler in New England and the Pacific. He died in Port Jackson.

Captain Samuel Swain (1799-1842) was born in Nantucket and later became involved in whaling both in New England and the Pacific Ocean. He married an English girl, Louisa Flowers Fulchard and his children were born in England. In 1842, he died in Port Jackson, on board his whaling ship Bermondsey.
