Mormon Church leader who served as second counselor in the first presidency of the Mormon Church under the first president of that faith, Joseph Smith (1805-1844).

William Law came to Nauvoo, Illinois in 1839, served on the municipal council, and was a captain in the Mormon Legion, but in 1844 was excommunicted. He and his brother Wilson Law owned several mills, a brickyard, and a store. William Law owned and published the Nauvoo Expositor.
