Biographical notes:

Edwin Greenslade Murphy, who wrote under the pseudonym of Dryblower, was born in Castlemaine, Victoria and came to the W.A. to the Calgoorlie goldfields in the early 1890s. He prospected for gold, and wrote verses for the Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie newspapers. In 1910, he settled in Perth and continued to write, mainly for the "Sunday times."
