Biographical notes:

This material comes from the second Globe Theatre playhouse built by B.F. Dwight on Hayward Place and Washington Street in 1874, which completely burned on January 2, 1894. John Stetson was the manager and proprietor.

Originally called Selwyn's when it was built on Washington Street in 1867, the first Globe Theatre burned down in 1873 and was replaced by a second Globe one block away on the same street. The third Globe Theatre was designed in 1903 by Arthur Vinal.
