Biographical notes:

Georgetown District, South Carolina rice mill. Plowden Weston bought Laurel Hill Plantation from Gabriel Marion in 1775. After his death in 1827 Weston's son, Francis Marion Weston, inherited Laurel Hill and other property. Adding to his assets Francis Marion Weston bought Hagley Plantation from one of the Alstons to use as the family's main residence. After the death of Francis Marion Weston his son, Plowden Charles Jennet Weston, inherited Hagley and Laurel Hill Plantations and all his father's other properties. Weston sold Laurel Hill Plantation to Colonel Daniel William Jordan in 1859 or 1860.
