Biographical notes:

Alice Vaughn Duncan Pierrepont, d.ca. 1960, was a member of a prominent Alabama family that was originally from Virginia. She was active in several patriotic organizations, extensively researched her family in Virginia, and published works on her Virginia cousin Reuben Vaughn Kidd as well as the Civil War. Her family resided in the Hale County and later in Birmingham, although her aunt Virginia Kidd Field lived in Texas for 30 years beginning in the 1870s.
