Donald D. Blackburn was born in Florida in 1916 and graduated the University of Florida in 1938. Served in various military units during World War II and the Vietnam War including acting as an advisor for the 5th Military Region (Mekong Delta) and director of Special Warfare, ODCSOPS (Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations).
