Born in Amsterdam, Holland, 24 Dec. 1768. Served in the Dutch navy before emigrating to the United States in 1792. Employed by the Holland Land Company as general agent. Founded Cazenovia, N.Y. Active in the Holland Purchase in the Genesee country. Died 9 Feb. 1822.
