Biographical notes:
Marco J. Picciola was a businessman, postmaster, and retail merchant in Golden Meadow, La. where he operated a general merchandise and sporting goods store from 1930-1968. In 1930, he was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives and served eighteen years, eventually helping to establish Nicholls State College in Thibodaux, La. Picciola died 19 July 1978 and was honored by Nicholls State University in the naming of Picciola Hall in 1979.
