Biographical notes:

Henry Farny was a famous Cincinnati artist, who did illustrations for HARPER'S WEEKLY. He traveled to Europe three times from 1867 to 1873 to study under Thomas Buchanan Read, John R. Tait, Rudolf Roger, Herman Herzog, Wilhelm von Diez and others.
