Worcester Reed Warner (1846-1929), a native of Cunningham, Massachusetts, was one of the founders of the Warner and Swasey Company, located in Cleveland, Ohio. His partner in this company was Ambrose Swasey. The company became a pioneer in the production of turret lathes and also produced telescopes. Warner himself had a great interest in astronomy and experimented frequently with new types of telescopes.
