Historian. Henderson was Professor of History at the University of Adelaide between 1902 and 1923. After 1924 he returned to Sydney and began research on Fiji. W.H. Ifould was a friend of Henderson and principal Librarian, Public Library of N.S.W.

Born at Hamilton, near Newcastle, N.S.W., G.C. Henderson after a brilliant career at the University of Sydney went to Oxford. He later was Professor of History in the University of Adelaide, 1902-1923. Following his retirement to Dora Creek, N.S.W., he devoted much time in research to Fiji and the Pacific, as well as some lecturing at the University of Sydney.
