The History of Science Collections were constituted as a separate department in Olin Library in 1961. In 1992 the Department merged with the Department of Rare Books, the Department of Manuscripts and University Archives, and the Icelandic Collection to form the Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections in the newly built Kroch Library.
