Biographical notes:

Milligan, Terence Alan [Spike] (1918-2002), comedian and author, one of the key creative forces who transformed post-war British comedy, bringing irreverence, surrealism and the absurd to popular culture. He wrote best-selling fiction, memoirs, poetry and children’s literature, just under half of which is represented in some form in this collection of manuscripts.
