Mobile & Girard Railroad Company.
Biographical notes:
The Mobile & Girard railroad dates from a legislative act of 25 Jan. 1845 as the Girard Railroad Company. Numerous mergers and changes in the charter occurred after that point, the most important of which was the 30 Jan. 1854 change to the Mobile & Girard Railroad Company.
In 1873 the Central Railroad & Banking Company began its long-term relationship to keep the Mobile & Girard out of bankruptcy.
