Pardee-Robison family.
Biographical notes:
Ariovistus Pardee, Sr., was a prominent mine owner in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. He was concerned about relief for the federal troops during the Civil War and particularly for the 28th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment. His sons, Ariovistus Jr. and Calvin, were officers in the Union Army with the 28th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment. His wife's family, the Robisons of Bloomsburg, sent Boyd Robison and Isaiah Robison into Federal service. Boyd was with the 35th Pennsylvania Militia Regiment and Isaiah was with the 28th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment. Isaiah was killed at the battle of Peach Tree Creek. Betsey, Bell, and Jane Robison (sisters of the senior Ariovistus Pardee's wife) were volunteer nurses during the Civil War.
