Biographical notes:

John A. Cejnar (Jack) was born 23 February 1895 in Pilsen, Bohemia Czechoslovakia. His family immigrated to the United States and settled in South Dakota. Cejnar served in World War I and after the war graduated from the University of Nebraska. He was married to Esther Jones Cejnar. He began his journalism career as a reporter for the Nebraska State Journal. He later worked for the Associated Press and then the International New Service (INS). While with the INS in Indianapolis he became Bureau Chief from 1926-1934. He joined the staff of the American Legion and served with that organization until 1964. Cejnar died on 28 February 1975.
