"Born in Socorro, New Mexico and raised in Kirkland, Washington, Dr. Hunt came to Whitworth in 1973 after teaching humanities at the University of Washington. He also served as a professional academic and pre-law advisor for the U of W's College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Hunt has been awarded the Burlington Northern Award for Teaching Excellence and has received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Washington Commission for the Humanities, and the Fund for the Improvement of Post Secondary Education. He and his wife, Linda, have loved their travels to Mexico, Central America, Spain, Berlin, London, Japan, and Korea.
