Biographical notes:

In 1967, Robert Clyde Moore had the idea to create a collection of the best two-move chess problems by the top ten problemists in the United States. In 1986, McFarland published Moore's book, entitled Two-Move Chess Problems. Once the top problemists were selected, Moore kept up a correspondence with them about their problems. The Two-Move Chess Problems Research and Manuscript Collection has these correspondences as well a collection of other individual problems published between 1857-1982 thought to be the best of the best American problems. The collection also houses two editor's manuscripts with edits of Two-Move Chess Problems.
