E.C. (Crawford) Alexander, Sr. was a prominent Elizabethton, Tenn. civic and business leader, who in the 1920s was instrumental in bringing to the town 2 large rayon plants, long the major employer in Carter County. His son, Edwin, Jr. also was a civic leader and businessman in Elizabethton.
