Biographical notes:
Elmer Walter Pehrson earned his AB in geology in 1918 at Stanford University and his mining engineer's degree in 1920. He served with the Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army, in 1918. Prior to joining the U.S. Bureau of Mines in 1928, he worked in the west as a mining engineer.
