Lorimer Fison was a Wesleyan missionary, anthropologist and journalist. He worked in Fiji as a missionary from 1863-1871 and 1875-1884. Fison published influential works on Fijian systems of kinship and land tenure; later he conducted careful studies of Aboriginal culture and social organization.
