Biographical notes:

Roderick Boyd Porter served as the Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Archivist (1973-1985) and was active in neighborhood re-development and historic preservation in the Greater Cleveland, Ohio, area. Porter also served as member of the Board of Trustees of the Western Reserve Historical Society, as a trustee of the Cleveland Area Arts Council, and a member of the Rowfant Club. He was a member of the North Coast Village Steering Committee in the 1980s, which played a key role in the Lexington Village project and revitalization efforts in the Hough area community of of Cleveland, Ohio.

Roderick Boyd Porter (1947-1993) served as the Cuyahoga County Archivist and was active in neighborhood re-development and historic preservation in Greater Cleveland. Born in Columbus, Ohio, to Robert J. and Corrine Porter, he graduated from John Carroll University with a B.A. in 1969, received an M.A. from the University of Michigan and was a candidate for a Ph. D. in medieval literature at Princeton University. Porter became the Cuyahoga County Archivist in 1973 and served as director of the Cuyahoga County Archives from 1975 to 1985. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Western Reserve Historical Society from 1979 to 1991, serving as chairman of the Friends of the Library from 1978 to 1986; and was a trustee of the Cleveland Area Arts Council and a member of the Rowfant Club. He was also a member of the North Coast Village Steering Committee in the 1980s which played a key role in the Lexington Village project and other revitalization efforts in the Hough community.
