Carnegie Estate (Cumberland Island, Ga.)

Biographical notes:

Thomas Morrison Carnegie, Jr., the fifth child and fourth son of Tom and Lucy Carnegie, was born in 1874 and known to family and friends as Morris. Not until his mother grew feeble did he become involved in the running of the Cumberland Island Estate. Then, because the other sons were carefree bachelors, estranged, or sick, he and his older brother Andrew Carnegie II took the most active roles, interacting with the Hudson Trust Company, their uncle Andrew Carnegie, and generally representing their mother's business interests.

From the description of Thomas Morrison Carnegie, Jr., papers, 1898-1915 (bulk 1900-1911). (Georgia Department of Archives and History Library). WorldCat record id: 38475749
