Biographical notes:

Longtime Longbranch, Washington resident, Bill Otto (b. 1900), was born in Menominie, Wisconsin, the son of homesteaders who arrived in Washington State in 1901. Otto worked as a logger and a farmer before opening the Maple Leaf Tavern in Longbranch following the repeal of Prohibition. He remained active in community affairs after his retirement and was honored as a town pioneer.
