Biographical notes:
Grand Canyon entrepreneur; established a camp at the Grand Canyon in 1844, engaged in prospecting and developed tourist facilities on the South Rim of the Canyon. Bass was active in the tourism industry at the Grand Canyon from 1885 to 1923.
