Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company created by mergers of several other companies in 1934; a subsidiary of Pullman Incorporated; headquartered in Chicago, Ill., with major plants in Worcester, Mass., Butler, Pa., Hammond, Ind., Chicago, Ill., and elsewhere. Worcester plant organized in 1934 as manufacturer of rail passenger cars and related transportation equipment; ceased operations in Worcester after 1964.
