Biographical notes:
William Murray Davidson (1821-1894) was a native of Scotland. He served as 2nd Lt. in the Chatham Artillery and later as a captain. Davidson was a wholesale wine and liquor distributor in Savannah, Georgia. His business, W.M. Davidson, was established in 1844 and was still operating in 1874 on Bay Street. He was the sole distributor for Wm. Massey and Co. Philadelphia Ale in Georgia and Florida. Davidson's wife was Sarah; they had a son, William, Jr.
