Fleissner was the head of the publishing program (Geschäftsführer) and Puknus and Struckmeyer were editors at Langen Müller Verlag (Albert Langen Georg Müller Verlag GmbH), based in Munich. Vartan Gregorian was a history professor and subsequently Dean of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. S. Fischer Verlag was the German publisher of Franz Werfel's works.
